Our climate allows us to grow nearly anything except citrus fruit, making plentiful produce available at roadside markets, U-Pick orchards, and farm markets. Our lake effect climate and light, beach-like soils make our small corner of the state a designated American Viticultural Area (AVA). This means our vineyards produce some of the very best grapes, which allows our wineries to create some finest wines in the Midwest.
