Rich in historic tradition, this campground was built on the site of a former Indian Village. Bear Cave is the only cavern in the Great Lakes area. Beautiful stalactites, flowstone, petrified leaves, and strange shapes - all delicately colored by the metal oxides of native ores - are present throughout the cave. Outside, the area surrounding Bear Cave is rich in wooded hills, wildflowers and deep ravines. The resort is located on the St. Joseph River and popular with fishermen. Lake Michigan is less than 20 miles west and Warren Dunes State Park, on the shore of the lake is also accessible.
