Niles River Fest
| |
Niles Riverfest 2012 has been one of Southwestern Michigan’s most popular family festivals for over 20 years. It will be held from Thursday, August 2nd through Sunday, August 5th, in downtown Niles, Michigan at Riverfront Park along the St. Joseph River.
This fun-filled event is free to all who attend. People of all ages can come to enjoy the variety of recreational activities and events, entertainment, great food, craft booths, kids games and more.
Riverfest is one of the only area festivals that celebrate one of our most popular natural resources—the St. Joseph River. Because of this, many of the Riverfest activities and events are held alongside or in the water. Some of the popular activities include the 'Anything That Floats' raft race, Dragon Boat races, and the All Car & Truck Show. Mr. & Ms. Riverfest will be crowned at annual pageant on Thursday, August 2nd. The opening ceremony for Niles Riverfest will be held on Friday, August 3rd at 6:30 p.m., at the Riverfront Park Amphitheater. Many local dignitaries and Riverfest board members will be on hand to help officially kick-off this festive annual event.
