Beginning Saturday, September 11, 2010, the Studebaker National Museum will launch Second Silly Saturday, a fun and informative program for children and their parents. This exciting new program targets elementary school students ages 6-10 and offers crafts and learning opportunities, as well as occasional guest speakers.

Part of the museum’s initiative to get younger children involved with the museum, this program will provide opportunities for children to have fun and socialize, but also to learn about the industrial history of St. Joseph County.

Up to fifteen children can participate in the Second Silly Saturday program that will be held the second Saturday of each month, September 2010 through May 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Board Room of the museum, located at 201 S. Chapin Street in South Bend, IN. RSVPs are requested 48 hours in advance of each session by contacting Courtney Meyers at 574-235-9714 ext. 223 or by email at cmeyers@studebakermuseum.org. 

One adult and one child will be admitted at a special rate of $5.00 per Saturday session (1 Saturday) or $25 for all 9 Saturdays. A fee of $2.00 will be charged for each additional child. Members of the museum and their children are free. Adults must remain with their children during the program but are free to view the entire museum at the conclusion.

The Studebaker National Museum is located at 201 S. Chapin Street in downtown South Bend. It is open Monday-Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., and Sunday 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Admission is $8 for adults, $6.50 for seniors over 60, and $5.00 for youth ages 6-18. Children 5 and under are admitted free. Annual membership fees are $30.00 for seniors, $40.00 for individuals, and $60.00 for a family.
